Applicants are called for the Laguna Village Architecture Competition with the winner receiving the commission to design the buildings that will make up Laguna Village, a cluster of around 70 buildings in the Whitsundays.
The brief is to create a village atmosphere that will inspire lifestyle residents and visitors – the character of the village must capture the beauty of the area while working harmoniously with the landscape and climate.
Initially, Laguna Australia is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from architects who believe they can make a valuable contribution to the design of Laguna Village. A number of firms or architects will be selected from the EOI and short-listed architects will then be invited to a briefing workshop in the Whitsundays in late February.
To submit an EOI, architects need to complete a pdf form and send it in by 29 October. This can be accessed at www.lagunawhitsundays.info or by contacting Tony McKenna on (03) 9299 9977.
