Sparkling new facility is company's 10th location
Louisville, Ky.-based Whayne Supply Co., one of the largest and oldest heavy equipment dealerships in North America, celebrated the grand opening of its newest branch in Dry Ridge, Ky., on Sept. 16. The new branch, Whayne's Supply's 10th, features several dedicated bays for over-the-road truck engine maintenance and repair; a parts department; on-site hose fabrication; field service dispatching; and construction equipment rental through Whayne, The CAT Rental Store.
Located at 215 Meeks Rd. in Dry Ridge, just off I-75 at exit 159, Whayne's new branch is a one-stop shop for preventive maintenance tune-ups and diagnostic services — to major overhauls, rebuilds and replacements.
On hand to help celebrate the grand opening was the CAT Chopper. Inspired by Caterpillar engineering and design, the CAT Chopper is a custom motorcycle built by Orange County Choppers in Rock Tavern, N.Y. The event also featured Caterpillar's NASCAR racecar, tours and equipment displays.
Brashear Construction LLC served as general contractor for the new branch. Work on the facility, which offers 1707.558 square meter, was completed in only seven weeks. "We would not have finished the job without Brashear Construction," said Mark Porta, vice president of eastern operations for Whayne Supply Co. "We are proud they are a part of the team."
In addition to the Dry Ridge facility, Whayne Supply Co. has locations in Ashland, Bowling Green, Corbin, Hazard, Lexington, Louisville, Paducah, and Pikeville, Ky., and Evansville, Ind.
