The Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne is set to save over 27,800 kilolitres of water and $80,000 a year by implementing Yarra Valley Water’s Water Efficiency Service recommendations.
Water efficiency assessors with experience in the management of water systems from Yarra Valley Water assessed the management of water systems in the shopping centre, conducting a full site appraisal and assessing water usage and potential areas for savings. Recommendations were then made on the installation of numerous water-saving devices.
To achieve savings of 15 percent, the centre will implement Yarra Valley Water’s recommendations, achieving payback in about six months. The savings include water, sewerage discharge and hot water energy.”
