Global information and publishing group Reed Elsevier has acquired three Australian companies that provide tender information to firms wanting a slice of the $40 billion worth of contracts awarded each year.
Reed Elsevier, through its construction information division Reed Construction Data (formerly Cordell), has acquired Australian Tender Centre, Tenderseek.biz and TTiGroup.
“Mostly for competitive reasons, the number of firms awarding contracts for goods and services through the tender process will increase significantly in the years ahead” said Reed Construction Data managing director Rob Wild. “And we want to share in that growth through the provision of vital bidding information.”
“These acquisitions will consolidate our position as Australia’s leading provider of market intelligence and bring to fruition a growth and diversification strategy that the company embarked on some time ago,” Wild added.
Utilising expertise gained over 35 years in data capture and dissemination, Reed will provide its customers with more dynamic information, increasing their chances of success in the bidding market. “Through these acquisitions, we will be offering new web-based software that will deliver timely and more relevant tender intelligence than is currently on the market” said Audrey Coutinho-Anand, general manager of the new group.
The three companies will continue to trade from their present locations in Melbourne and the Gold Coast, offering tender information covering all of Australia and New Zealand. They will operate under the name of Reed Information Services.
Recently, Reed Elsevier acquired a similar tender notification business in Italy.
