CSR Gyprock has now launched Soundchek 13mm plasterboard for commercial projects, a companion product to Soundchek 10mm for residential projects.
The high-density acoustic plasterboard can be used in non-fire rated systems where sound resistance is important with applications for offices, hospitals, schools, multi-residential and other commercial buildings. With working and living environments becoming increasingly compact, coupled with a stronger awareness of high performance acoustics in multi-residential and other commercial environments, CSR Gyprock has developed the product in response to these demands.
Gyprock Soundchek Commercial reflects more than 90 percent of all noise due to a 50 percent higher mass than regular plasterboard. The product is stronger than standard 13mm plasterboard with measurably improved impact resistance, breaking strength and bracing performance. This strength also means that is has good sag resistance, suitable for 600mm spans.
Soundchek Commercial is particularly effective in controlling waste pipe noise with a single layer sufficient to meet the BCA requirements for ceilings and ducts in bathrooms and kitchens. The product’s high density also provides effective acoustic performance for walls and ceilings.
When combined with Bradford Gold Batts, Gyprock Soundchek Commercial can create a high level of thermal efficiency and comfort.
