The Green Building Councils of China and Australia recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding; an agreement designed to establish a firm relationship between the two organisations and encourage the implementation of sustainable building practices.
Chair of the Green Building Council of Australia , Tony Arnel, said that due to the rapid expansion of the Chinese property industry, both councils feel that adopting more environmentally sustainable building practices is important. The Memorandum of Understanding will see Australia and China exchanging information regarding government policy and similar programs that have encouraged the adoption of green building practices.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, both councils will provide updates on the latest green building trends and host delegations to provide opportunities for partnerships, networking, and joint research.
