Marmox Australia has launched an innovation for bathroom construction and floor heating. It will change bathroom construction for ever and open new doors for bathroom and floor heating.
Marmox boards are waterproof construction boards, made out of high performance extruded polystyrene and faced on both sides with fiberglass mesh, which is then embedded into a cement polymer mortar. Marmox boards can be used as tile backer boards for all wet areas because of their waterproofing characteristics and light weight. They are easy to cut and are made in different thicknesses, ranging from 6mm to 50mm.
Curved boards for all curved construction come in prefabricated boxes, with a full range of accessories for easy installation. For example enclosing a bathtub will not take more than 10 minutes, using a sheet of 30mm board and four pairs of wall brackets, provided with the sheet. No framing up is needed and the surface is level, waterproof and ideal for tiling.
Thermal insulation makes Marmox boards ideal for under floor heating. They act as a barrier against heat loss in the slab and save on heat up time and running costs. By laying the heating element on top of the boards, which are placed on top of the slab, warm floors can be achieved within 20 minutes.
