SYKES’ recently unveiled Yakka150, a compact, auto-prime pumpset enclosed in a specially designed modular canopy.
The Yakka module is comprised of a rotationally moulded enclosure and an integral roll cage which serves as both an acoustic barrier and as a means to protect the unit from vandalism and extreme environmental conditions.
The lightweight and manoeuvrable Yakka has been designed to suit applications requiring a 6” (152.4 mm) pump, including mining, construction, sewer bypass and hire applications.
The enclosure is designed for easier for maintenance; gull wing doors and low internal sides give access to the engine, pump set and control systems.
The module comes with a single point lift allowing for removal of the canopy for major servicing.
The Yakka150 can be mounted on either a sled base for mining applications or integrated onto a trailer for multiple site relocation.
Designed to operate unsupervised over extended periods, the unit incorporates a 200 litre fuel tank allowing for 30 hour operation at full load at 1,800 rpm.
Fuel use is minimised through the pumps’ ability to reduce engine/motor kW/hp size while still maintaining performance. When running at full load at 1,400 rpm WMR, its fuel usage is 3.2 litres/hour.
Controls are situated inside the lockable module allowing the user to set and run, eliminating the need for after-hour surveillance. Like Sykes’ Olympic range, the Yakka150 offers increased flows, reduced fuel usage and solids handling capabilities.
The pump’s stainless steel impeller and wear plate are standard and is accredited to AS9002 standards.
