New Holland pioneered the vertical lift boom market for skidsteers many years ago and with its model LS 170’s combination of productivity, ease of operation and safety features the company firmly believes that it remains the pacesetter.
New Holland Super Boom technology means maximised lift capacity for a given engine power and operating weight. When compared to traditional radial lift loader arms, Super Boom equips the LS170 with numerous advantages, including better forward reach, a lower pivot point for improved visibility and a considerably lower centre of gravity. A lower-mounted engine provides exceptional rear visibility, allowing increased safety for the operator and others on the job site.
While a skidsteer must have the ability to turn with its own length, stability is of utmost importance. The LS 170's long wheelbase and low centre of gravity enable the machine to remain stable, whether raising full loads to maximum heights or travelling on side slopes. Weight is distributed so that the machine can climb slopes empty, and descend fully loaded, without losing contact with the ground.
The LS170 is equipped with an innovative Advanced Warning System (AWS) that monitors all machine functions, immediately alerting the operator to any problems. In the case of a serious fault, AWS will automatically shut down the machine 30 seconds after the warning sounds. The AWS system can be programmed so that the machine can only be started and operated after a security code has been entered, preventing unauthorised use and enabling greater control over who operates the machine.
