LCR Lindores Group has struck a strategic partnership with one of the world's largest engineering and construction firms, Bechtel Group Inc.
Under the partnership, the Australian crane company will supply its Demag CC 2600 lattice boom crane for Bechtel's large construction projects in Australia.
Lindores acquired the $US4 million crane earlier this year. It can extend to 180 metres in height and lift up to 600 tonne at a time, making it among the largest cranes of its type in Australia.
Lindores’ general manager of business development, Ross Schumacher, says the Bechtel Group partnership provides significant growth opportunities for LCR Lindores Group.
"This partnership is all about aligning ourselves with a reputable, blue-chip client that has operations all around the world," he says.
"Bechtel Group is one of the world's most renowned construction companies and it is very exciting for us to be associated with them."
Bechtel is a privately owned, US-based company with in excess of 1,000 construction projects currently underway in more than 60 countries around the world. The group's diversified construction projects range from power plants and refineries to gas, rail, mining and chemical projects.
In Australia, Bechtel Group Inc has offices in Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. One of the group's most recent construction projects in Australia was the US$922 million Millmerran Power Plant in Queensland.
Schumacher says LCR Lindores Group's partnership is initially based on supplying the Demag CC 2600 Lattice Boom Crane for large construction projects in Australia.
