Insulated glass for windows
is offering a new line of Thermotech insulated glass units with Thermo Plastic Spacer (TPS) technology. The TPS seal maintains even temperature distribution on the glass surface, reducing thermal stress and condensation, which in turn leads to reduced environmental wear on the unit. The seal tolerates extreme thermal stress and wind loads. It is a butyl-based sealant, in an insulated glass unit, enabling a new generation of durable, energy efficient windows in almost any shape, size and thickness. If TPS technology is not used, much of the benefit of low-E and argon-filled IGUs is reduced because heat is conducted along the glass and across the spacer.
