ARBS 2010  has announced the 28 finalists, over nine categories, for its inaugural Industry Awards.

Sue Falcke, Exhibition Manager explained that the awards will run as part of the ARBS 2010 exhibition, and recognise the excellence achieved by companies and individuals in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and building services industry.

“This industry -- its people, its companies, its products and its services -- is often the unsung hero of sustainable buildings. The ARBS Industry Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and highlight the truly exceptional achievements over the last year,” she said.

The nine award categories are: 

  • ARBS Young Achiever Award 2010 
  • Outstanding Service and Maintenance Provider 2010 
  • HVAC Product Excellence Award 2010 
  • HVAC Project Excellence Award 2010 
  • Refrigeration Product Excellence Award 2010 
  • Refrigeration Project Excellence Award 2010 
  • Environmentally Sustainable Design Product Initiative Award 2010 
  • Environmentally Sustainable Design Project Leadership Award 2010
  • Outstanding Industry Education/Training Award 2010
Additionally, 11 pre-eminent industry professionals will be admitted to the ARBS Hall of Fame, recognising their tireless efforts to furthering the HVAC&R industry in terms of service, contribution, commitment and leadership.

After an exhaustive and extensive evaluation of the considerable pool of nominations the finalists were selected, with the winners being announced at a gala dinner on 13 April at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre.

Hosted by George Negus, the awards dinner will also feature entertainment by The Rat Pack, who will dance and sing up a storm with some of the world’s most loved songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr.

ARBS 2010 will run from 12-14 April at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre.
