Global engineering and environmental consultant, Hyder Consulting has purchased the Australian building structures and project management practice, Warren & Rowe (Aust) Pty Ltd.
Hyder has been involved with some of Australia’s most prestigious projects including the AMP Tower in Sydney, Federation Square in Melbourne, the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Melbourne City Link, and the M5 East Motorway.
Warren & Rowe have designed and project managed buildings in the government, commercial, industrial, institutional and residential sectors in Victoria. The company has operated in Melbourne for 25 years and will relocate to Hyder’s Melbourne offices in mid-February.
The acquisition follows two others completed in Australia in the second half of 2002 – building services consultancy, P&D Clarke, and RFA Acoustic Design. Hyder Consulting chief executive, Tim Wade said: “This furthers our plan to grow our strength in Australia, principally by making smaller acquisitions and integrating them into our regional operations.”
