Charles Glanville Architects (CGA) claims to have halved the time required to achieve complictated designs through the use of Revit 5.1 software.
The design company had been using 2D CAD software for 10 years but recognised the need to upgrade its technology to deliver an improved and quicker service to its clients. “I was after a system that gave us 3D design capability and documentation tools. The coordination of both these aspects within the software was imperative to any solution we chose,” says Charles Glanville, CGA principal. “Ideally I wanted design changes to only happen once in our new system and thereafter to be reflected throughout the design documents. This would save us from spending as much time needing to check for errors and result in greater accuracy.”
After installing Autodesk Revit in November 2002, it only took a couple of weeks for the firm to see the true value of the software to their business as it was able to quickly simplify its processes resulting in projects that were completed quicker.
“Autodesk Revit has shown us benefits that I did not expect,” says Glanville. “It is helping us to be more flexible, interactive and to accelerate the approval, presentation and design processes with the client.”
