Set to be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre from 21 to 23 October, the inaugural Grand Designs Australia LIVE will bring to life all the elements of the UK and Australian television show.
Visitors will be provided with motivating design ideas, quality renovation inspirations and home improvement solutions showcased in 4 innovative design exhibitions: GRAND Interiors, GRAND Building, GRAND Outdoors and GRAND Kitchen & Bathrooms.
GRAND Interiors will see Dulux and the Whitehouse Institute of Design collaborate to create Rooms by Design where 4 Whitehouse students will have their creative room designs constructed at the live event to showcase their vision of ethically, emotionally, economically and ecologically sustainable interior design. The winner of the challenge will be announced at Grand Designs Australia LIVE and will win a trip for 2 to the 2012 Grand Designs Live London.
Another highlight of GRAND Interiors will be the Philips House of the Future, which will display the latest in advanced technology, design and innovation for home entertainment systems and lighting.
The free Austral Bricks Expert Advice Centre will be the highlight of GRAND Building, where visitors can have free 30 minute consultations with top industry experts regarding all aspects of their build, renovation or development, whether it be financing a project, designing with an accredited architect or building designer or even furnishing a home. Visitors are encouraged to bring plans, sketches, photos, blue-prints, drawings and budgets for reference.
In addition, the LifeStyle Channel GRAND Theatre will set the stage for debate on some of the most common challenges homeowners face when creating their own grand design. Hot topics include housing, sustainability, innovation and regeneration which are coupled with solid practical information to help overcome these issues.
The GRAND Outdoors Hall and the sustainable Designer Eco House built by SBS Residential will incorporate an architecturally designed, zero energy house decorated by an interior designer complete with a professionally landscaped garden.
In the GRAND Kitchen and Bathrooms quarter, refined kitchen designs meet innovative appliances suitable for the most contemporary kitchens at the Miele Kitchen Theatre and free expert advice centre. Visitors will find an array of bathrooms to suit all tastes in GRAND Bathrooms sponsored by Miele, whether it be sleek lines or curves, clean whites or striking colours.
