Noosa’s nightlife has turned up the glamour and sophistication as Melbourne Architectural office, Buro Architects, put their stamp of ‘glamorous modernism’ onto Noosa’s legendary Rolling Rock nightclub and the new Flamingo Club.
Situated adjacent to each other on Hastings Street, Noosa Heads, the Rolling Rock (Noosa’s oldest night venue) opened its luxurious interior to Noosa’s night revelers last month as did the Flamingo Club (formerly known as the New York Bar).
Seeking to create a more sophisticated environment for Sunshine Coast’s late night party goers, the venues have been transformed into visually stunning spaces that will allure the hippest A-List.
The Flamingo Club, an ultra luxe cocktail bar, has an intimate boudoir feel. Cocooned in sumptuous red drapery, with twinkling red chandeliers and red mirrors, the Flamingo Club is perfect for a whole night out or an after dinner night cap.
The Rolling Rock, on the other hand, has been designed to be one of Australia’s most vibrant cutting-edge nightclubs. Featuring grand Italian light fittings, opulent divans, and sweeping glamour bars, The Rolling Rock is essentially a black box but yet manages to evoke the dark allure of eros. Buro Architects, together with interior designers, Hecker Phelan Guthrie, have also introduced their signature lounge area for those who want some respite from the music and the frenzy of the dance floor to converse.
Buro Architects have been responsible for some of Melbourne’s most recent jewel-like transformations at up-market establishments such as The Botanical, The Reserve and Port Melbourne’s id apartments. It was these that captured the eye and interest of their far north client, Lyndon Simmons, who has now commissioned the firm for two other major projects in Rainbow Beach, Queensland: Ocean View, a small building comprising of six apartments and The Plantation, an ultra luxe 33 apartment residential complex.
