Designbuild, Australia's largest building and design expo was held at the Perth convention exhibition centre October 9 – 11 was a success, according to organisers, Diversified Exhibitions Australia.
The exhibition was staged for the first time in Perth and featured 120 exhibitors and attracted 2,550 trade visitors over the three days.
This was a good result for a first time show and because it was well received by the industry, Diversified Exhibitions Australia has decided that it will now be held on an annual basis.
Some organisations, including the Master Builders and Master Plumbers have already offered their assistance for 2008.
The exhibition was officially opened by the Hon Michelle Roberts MLA Minister for Employment Protection: Housing and Works; Indigenous Affairs; Heritage and Land Information, featured 120 exhibitors and was attended by 2550 trade visitors over the three days.
The exhibition was host to a series of Green Building Seminars held in conjunction with the Green Building Council of Australia, The Master Builders Association, Australian Tile Council, Institute of Plumbing, CEDIA and the Building Designers Association. The seminars featured presentations from leading-edge practitioners of environmentally sustainable architecture, design, building and construction.

Best Stand Awards
The Best Stand Awards, judged by members of the Exhibition Event Association of Australasia were presented on Friday night to an enthusiastic audience of exhibitors and media.
The winner of the Best shell Scheme stand was Style Limited who featured clever use of their flooring made from renewable strand woven bamboo.
BAT Trims were winners of the best stand Free Design presenting a shining example of how a stand can effectively display a broad range of products including tiling machinery and accessories.
The second Designbuild Perth will be held for three days 17 -19 October 2008.
