When the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre wanted an attractive forecourt area that would resist fading and general wear and tear, they chose Concrete Colour Systems Concrete Pigments.
Concrete Colour Systems worked with the Gold Coast City Council and prominent local artist, Mal Leckie to provide a natural, yet bold finish that would complement the multi-million dollar centre as well as the local environment.
To represent the nearby Tallebudgera Creek, Concrete Colour Systems’ Panther with a white stone aggregate was used, while Concrete Colour Systems’ Lychee was specified to signify the coastal mangroves in the region.
As a tribute to the stunning beaches nearby, patterns of footprints, water ripples and waves have also been permanently etched into the concrete through sandblasting and specially made stencils.
