Bathroom designs with Corian®
Melbourne-based designer Joseph Licciardi from Vetrosystems has created two sleek new contemporary bathroom fixtures, which were unveiled recently at ISH, the leading international trade fair for house and building technology.
Both smooth, curving forms, the KL Vessel (a vanity) and Le Cob Bath feature DuPont Corian®. “As a material, Corian® offers the ability to manufacture seemingly solid, monolithic, sensually curving forms from sheet without obvious visual joints,” said Joseph Licciardi.
The streamlined KL Vessel was originally manufactured in stone slab, but soon evolved as a production piece for the international market, while the Le Cob Bath blends glass sides and a Corian® curved profile that emulates the body’s form in an ode to Le Corbusier’s Chaise Lounge.
Corian®’s performance is as pleasing to the consumer as its look. The ideal surface for wet areas, Corian® is easy to clean, has no nooks and crannies for mould to collect and is a hardy, renewable surface that looks new even after years of use.
