CEMENT and Concrete Association of Australia describes this year’s World of Concrete trade show in the US as “astounding”.
The association has hosted a group of visitors to the show – the largest concrete trade show in the world.
This year 87,000 delegates from around the world attended the show in Las Vegas.
The association plans to take another group to next year’s show, which is to be held in New Orleans from January 8 to 14.
An organiser of the group tour, Brian Hauser, says the show is “astounding”.
“It’s an outstanding display of the latest and greatest in concrete construction technology.
“This year’s show had a big emphasis on decorative concrete finishes for walling and paving. There is an amazing breadth of finishes available in the US that we have not yet seen here.
“Given the increasing interest in concrete finishes in Australia, it was very exciting to see what is around the corner.”
The show also featured the latest in concrete hardware, including chainsaws capable of cutting through 250mm concrete sections, for cutting windows or openings in pre-cast and tilt-up panels, tools for chasing electrical conduit into concrete walls, and the latest in grinding technology for achieving highly-polished concrete finishes.
A wide range of innovative building and construction applications were also on show.
“If you’re a decision-maker in the building and construction industries, it’s worth considering a visit to next year’s show,” Hauser says.
“It’s a great opportunity to access some very smart and cost-effective concrete technologies, as well as to network with manufacturers, suppliers and leading industry professionals from around the world.”
