Attendees can taste food and wine covered with real gold leaves this Tuesday 14th August at Art Gilding's studio in Rosebery, Sydney where a Master Craftsman will give demonstrations on the ancient craft of gilding.
The "Golden Night" is free and provides the opportunity to see the fine craft of gold-leaf gilding demonstrated by Master Craftsman Karl Eggert. Karl has over 45 years of experience and is originally from Germany where he trained as a church restorer. He and the team at Art Gilding have gilded many of the most prestigious buildings in Australia and around the world, including Sydney Town Hall and the Petronas Twin Towers in Kualar Lumpur.
For architects and interior designers, it is an enjoyable opportunity to see how gilding can be used to decorate and enhance interiors in a unique way. Art Gilding can highlight architectural finishes and create highly unique feature walls with gold and silver leaf. Many fine pieces will be on display around the studio and free samples will be available to take away.
The evening is free and includes fine food which is served gilded with 24-carat gold leaves and wine with floating gold. Gold is a completely natural mineral and is perfectly safe to eat. The attractive metal has a unique uplifting effect and great civilisations have used it to embellish food for centuries.
The evening is being held this Tuesday 14th August, 6pm-8pm at Art Gilding's studio in Rosebery, Sydney and is strictly by invitation only. For invitations, call Brigitte on 02 9663 3881.
