Smeg Australia announces the fifth generation of the reputed Italian
brand’s induction cooktops designed to boost both speed and energy efficiency
performance.
Smeg’s range of induction cooktops features full surface cooking technology,
automatic zone recognition and double booster power surge, with the double
booster technology delivering up to 3700W of power, and enabling a litre of
water to be boiled in a mere two minutes. A conventional radiant ceramic
cooktop takes six minutes while gas takes eight minutes for a similar task. The
temperature changes, via the slider touch control, are reflected immediately
and not gradually as with other fuel options.
Energy efficiency is a major benefit delivered by Smeg’s new induction
cooktops, which offer 85 to 90 per cent as opposed to about 65 per cent with
radiant coil, 58 per cent with halogen and 40 to 45 per cent with gas.
Key features of the new Smeg induction cooktops include choice of 600,
700 and 900mm widths; intuitive operation; multizone technology allowing multiple
pans to be used simultaneously anywhere on the surface; touch slide control featuring
nine temperature levels, a boost and a super boost function plus a timer; all zones
can be used simultaneously; and choice of black or white finish.
The Smeg collection of new generation induction cooktops is available nationally
from appliance specialists, electrical retailers and some department stores.
