Australia’s leading brick manufacturer, PGH Bricks & Pavers has introduced
a new collection of exclusively designed house bricks in various natural Australian
tones.
The new PGH Dry Pressed range consists of nine bricks in assorted Australian
tones including Belgenny Brown, Gledswood Blend, Hawkesbury Bronze, Livingston
Gold, Macarthur Mix, McGarvie Red, Megalong Valley Grey, Mowbray Blue and
Wolverton Cream.
The latest addition is part of PGH’s efforts to observe design and
construction trends and source different materials to create unique colours and
textures that reflect distinctive individual style.
Featuring an architecturally solid appearance, the new Dry Pressed range
epitomises brick manufacturing excellence with the high compression process providing
a grainy, yet smooth and velvety appearance. Their extremely square arris is
also an important part of their aesthetic appeal, allowing infinite possibilities
when it comes to innovative architecture in both traditional and contemporary
building.
PGH’s Dry Pressed bricks were recently recognised with the Masonry
Contractors Award for Single Residential Brickwork, demonstrating perfectly how
Dry Pressed bricks worked with modern architecture. The award-winning
application sees the bricks used in a striking feature wall in a contemporary
Sydney eastern suburbs home to create a dramatic entrance. The wall uses PGH
Mowbray Blue face bricks in a Flemish bond, punctuated with random protrusions
to create a sense of drama and scale.
Jenny Page, Colour and Design Professional and Architectural Account
Manager observes that architects and designers are using brickwork in new and
innovative ways that can be seen in some award-winning projects. She adds that
the beauty of the Dry Pressed range lies in its modularity, which can be used
to create unique interior or exterior design.
PGH’s Dry Pressed bricks are sustainable and recyclable with bricks made
from natural materials; energy efficient with the bricks creating thermal and
acoustically efficient homes; low maintenance with the enduring colour ensuring
painting is not required; flexible with the comprehensive colour range and
smooth finish of dry pressed bricks easy to use in any building design; strong
and safe with durable, non-combustible and termite-resistant characteristics, and
no risk of rot or decay; and cost effective, with the low maintenance material minimising
ongoing costs.
The PGH Dry Pressed range is produced in the standard working brick size
of 230mmL x 110mmW x 76mmH. The Mowbray Blue and Gledswood Blend bricks from
the range also come in splits of 230mmL x 110mmW x 50mmH.
