Orion Solar  recently installed Rigel solar powered bollards at Champion Ridge Mauna Lani in Hawaii. The gated community needed directional lighting for illumination of pathways and a general park area. As the community is located close to the world’s largest observatory it was vital that the illumination was night sky friendly. The Rigel bollard was the best option to meet their needs.

Rigel solar powered bollards are designed to activate automatically from dusk till dawn, and can be easily and securely installed without the need for an electrician.

Energy efficient LEDs are used in these bollards, and as LEDs require a smaller electrical current than incandescent bulbs, there is almost no energy waste through heat dissipation. High-intensity LEDs typically enjoy more than 100,000 hours of life.

As well as using long life LEDs, Rigel solar powered bollards feature an energy management system that ensures many years between battery replacements.

Rigel solar powered bollards rely on sustainable energy, helping customers to go green. Also, as they are not connected to the power grid, in the case of power emergencies due to natural or man-made causes, Rigel solar powered bollards will continue to function.

Mounted on an extruded aluminium spar with tamper-proof mounting screws, Rigel solar powered bollards are structurally strong and vandal-resistant.
