mei + picchi make simplicity a novel approach at designEX 2008

mei + picchi - ALU range merchandising systems
mei + picchi’s stand at designEX 2008, held in Sydney from the 10th to the 12th April, featured stylish products for retail and commercial environments, used in contemporary and traditional applications.
Every year mei + picchi features the designer ALU Italy range of merchandising systems. ALU is a fresh and ideal firm and has been right from its origins.
With company headquarters in Romano d’Ezzelino (VI) Italy, ALU is a manufacturer and distributor of point-of-sale fixtures and merchandising system.
ALU can be used to create an endless variety of display modules. Each year mei + picchi offers new inspiration for visitors to its stand by displaying ALU products in a distinctly different way.
ALU products featured on the mei + picchi stand include the following ranges:
- Pylon is a complete fixturing system, which can be used as a wall system, window system or as a centrally located partition system. The options available are endless.
- Reed and Round Reed are portable display and merchandising systems that can be used floor to ceiling or freestanding. The strength of Reed makes it ideally suited to interactive point of sale merchandising that is easily transportable and can be reconfigured to changing requirements.
- Frame is based on a system of 30mm x 30mm stainless steel lengths of tube. The system is joined together with an ideal range of corners, which enables the creation of any configuration.
- Box is an infinitely expandable system of cubes and boxes, which form display cases, storage units, graphic panels and freestanding merchandisers. Box units are designed to suit specific requirements.
This year the primary focus of the mei + picchi stand was the product, and the numerous ways in which the ALU range offers practical fixtures for the design conscious.
On display were a number of applications that are possible with products like Pylon, Reed, Round Reed, Frame and Box. mei + picchi created real life scenarios within each product display, demonstrating a variety of retail and commercial applications as could be required of a chosen space, or a design brief.
Contemporary fixtures were used in traditional ways, which even worked to extend their appeal to residential designers, who could easily envisage the systems within a private space.
For example, Pylon and Reed were used with shelving and books. Box was used as an illuminated wall unit, seating and a pendant lighting feature. Frame was used to create tables, counters + shelving units, bulletin stands, mirror frames + signage frames.
The possibilities available with the ALU range are only limited by imagination; however, ALU also offers refreshing and adaptable solutions for the simplest of design briefs.
The ALU range, along with mei + picchi’s Essentials and Solutions ranges are currently on display in all mei + picchi showrooms in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Auckland, New Zealand.
