CSR Hebel has developed Staggered PowerWall, a cost-effective system designed specifically for high-rise multi-residential construction. The product’s ease of handling and workability combined with its light weight qualities enables rapid assembly, minimising onsite labour requirements. When compared to full or composite masonry wall construction, Staggered PowerWall provides opportunities for savings in the cost of the structure by optimising the design of slab and columns and by reducing the weight on the sub-structure. It also allows for a more simplified process as there is less cutting (reducing wastage), little or no adhesive and the elimination of the IBS rod. Other advantages include greater flexibility with services and the need for only one layer of plasterboard to maintain up to -/90/90 FRL. Moreover, the same system can be applied to a variety of wall applications. As fewer components are required, and the wall systems are adaptable to more areas of the building project, builders can streamline the entire wall construction process, including service trades. The system consists of overlapped offset panels which are fitted to top and bottom tracks in a system that achieves an FRL of up to 180/180 (depending on the plasterboard used).
