Dulux Australia announces the release of its updated BIM (Building
Information Modelling) Solutions product featuring enhanced usability and
efficiency to provide specifiers with an excellent resource for their Revit
project requirements.
Launched in 2014 to provide easy-to-use Revit content and plugins, Dulux
BIM Solutions allows users to add Dulux colours to Revit models quickly and
simply at the planning stage. Users have a choice
of three download options: Dulux Colour Atlas Revit Plug-in, Dulux Colour Group
Revit Families and individual Dulux Colour Revit Families.
The 2015 update of the Dulux Colour Atlas Plug-in for Revit now allows users
to select Dulux Powder Coating colours as well as specific
Dulux Protective Coating metallic and safety colours. Enhanced features in the updated
Plug-in also include the ability to paint Split Faces and the option to use the
4600+ Dulux colours to paint surfaces in the Family Editor.
WA BIM Coordinator at GHD, Belinda Thompson comments that the Dulux
Revit plugin is a ‘genuine BIM tool’ and a great resource for producing data
rich documentation.
According to Thompson, both Dulux and IGS, as the developer of the
plugin, fully understand how Revit is used in a BIM project environment. She
observes that it’s advantageous in a multi-discipline firm when the same Revit
plugin can be used by their Interior Design team to specify and define colour schemes
as well as their BIM Managers who are seeking to create and communicate project
data adhering to specific project conventions and client protocols.
