Melbourne-based lighting designer, Volker Haug re-uses vintage enamelled shades for his ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and ‘Wow’ collections.
Haug brings these pieces to life with his colourful and edgy stencil designs that juxtapose their sombre exterior. Inspired by second-hand objects, Haug’s design ethos, wherever possible, is to recycle, reuse and renew. This philosophy is embraced in all aspects of his business, from recycling waste materials to offering clients a service to recycle their used light bulbs.
At designEX , Haug will launch his next range of lighting designs made from recycled objects, highlighting the relevance of sustainable design concepts. Haug’s recent works include the Antler and Rudolf ranges, along with vivid cable jewellery.
