The Interior Design Awards were announced on 2/5/07 at a dinner held at the National Gallery of Victoria where more than five hundred design professionals gathered to hear the commended and winning entries from 16 categories covering residential, retail, hospitality, corporate, public, interior product and interior textile design.
Now in its fourth year, the Interior Design Awards is an internationally recognised event promoting and rewarding interior design excellence.
The programme is open to any Australian-based designer including interior designers, interior decorators, architects and other design professionals and is a partnership event of the Design Institute of Australia (the professional body representing Australian designers), designEX (A premier event for interior architecture and design) and ARTICHOKE (the interior architecture magazine published by Architecture Media).
According to Interior Design Awards, working with the Design Institute of Australia and its collaboration with the National Conference of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects
reinforces the credibility of this program and its outcomes.
Overall entries for the 2007 Interior Design Awards increased from 197 projects, entered into 319 award categories (2006 figures) to 355 projects entered into 471 award categories (2007 figures).
