Walk easy and rest easy with one of the most beneficial floors around. Australian company, Logic Australia, have developed a sustainable and highly resilient floor covering using 70% post consumer waste – recycled wine corks.
As a raw material, cork is a naturally renewable resource derived from the bark of cork trees, and is made up of millions of tiny air pockets. This unique cell structure translates into good thermal, acoustic and impact absorption properties that are combined with the flexibility and strength of rubber.
In true ‘cradle to cradle’ manufacturing, Comcork now uses only recycled corks in their products, which at the end of their life can be recycled again. Comcork source their corks by supporting the collections of a network of community groups such as Girl Guides, Scouts, Friends of the Zoo and Lions Clubs.
WalkEasy is available in 30 colours and in 1800x900mm sheet sizes. Comcork will be launching a roll form at D4S, the design for sustainability feature at 2009’s designEX and Form & Function. All Comcork flooring products are fully accredited from Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA).
Comcork are exhibiting at Stand 20 in D4S (design for sustainability) at designEX in Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
