The LABTEC UPVC duct work developed by ATT – Advanced Technology Transfer is made from rigid, grey, unplasticised poly vinyl chloride (UPVC). Stiffening agents are welded to the duct and all corners are heat bent to avoid thinning and stress concentration. Various methods of duct work joining are done namely flange, butt welded and socket welded joints. These are done to ensure secure sealing of the entire duct. Woven nylon fabric is used for flexible connectivity and the ducts are fastened with stainless steel screws.
