ADM Instrument Engineering announces the release of the new Mean Well 5000W RST-5000 power supplies to meet the increasing demand for higher power in industrial applications.

The new single output 5000W RST-5000 series features Mean Well’s built-in active PFC function and accepts a wide range of 3-phase AC inputs (3Φ 3-wire/△ 196~305VAC or 3Φ 4-wire/ Y 340~530VAC).

Key features of the Mean Well 5000W RST-5000 power supplies include 24VDC or 48VDC output to suit diverse industrial applications; adjustable output voltage and output current for greater flexibility; ability to trim output voltage between 20~120% of rated voltage using a 1~6VDC external control signal; ability to trim output current between 20~100% of rated current using a 1~5VDC external control signal; Mean Well’s new generation circuit topology for a high efficiency rating of up to 91%; built-in fan allowing full load output in ambient temperatures of up to 50°C; and ability to use up to three power supplies in parallel for a total output of up to 15000W.

The RST-5000 series has two overload protection systems - continuous constant current limiting mode and constant current limiting, with delay shutdown after five seconds. Both modes work with various types of severe loads including inductive load, capacitive load and battery charging.

Useful features in the Mean Well RST-5000 power supplies also include a remote sense function, remote ON/OFF control and 12V/0.1A auxiliary power for running a fan, sensor or other device. An alarm signal output (both relay contact and open collector signal) is also provided for AC fail, DC OK, fan fail and over temperature protection.

The RST-5000 complies with international safety standards such as UL, CUL, and TUV, and is supplied through ADM complete with C-Tick and Mean Well’s 5-year warranty.
