Stone pavers from Adbri Masonry were used to install a versatile public
area and walkway at the Devonport Surf Life Saving Club during its recent
upgrade.
The upgrade of the Devonport Surf Life Saving Club and surrounding
facilities was awarded the Bruce McKenzie Landscape Award at the 2014 Think
Brick awards ceremony held in Melbourne recently.
Located at the iconic Mersey Bluff Plaza on Tasmania’s North West coast,
‘The Bluff’ as it is known locally, is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing,
picnics in the park and Surf Life Saving.
Welcomed by surf club members and the local community, the upgrade consisted
of a number of family friendly sites including a new playground, barbecue
facilities, public plaza and car park. Designed by Hansen Partnership in
Melbourne, the project used non-directional pavers of varying colours to create
a coastal inspired design where colours transition from the foreshore pavement
to the sand and sea beyond.
Hansen Partnership’s design team was awarded the $10,000 prize for the
landscape design.
About 6,500 square metres of Adbri Masonry’s Trihex and Quartz stone
pavers were used to create the public area and walkway.
Karl Wood, Marketing Manager, Adbri Masonry said Hansen Partnership and
the Davenport Bluff Precinct project are very worthy winners of the 2014 Bruce
McKenzie Landscape Award.
