Shopfitters, exhibition builders, POP display manufacturers, interior designers and architects are realising the major benefits that the new X-Board delivers.
X-Board, a Xanita product, is described as a lightweight, strong honeycomb kraft fibre-board, sandwiched between two layers of satin white paper. The X-Board is less than 25% of the weight of MDF, but up to 80% as strong flexurally. The X-Board is fully repulpable, making it the substrate of choice in an environment where displays, office walls, bulkheads, office furniture, bookshelves and retail shop-fitouts need frequent changing.
The X-Board can be mitre-cut, painted, flatbed UV inkjet printed, or laminated with various decorative laminates. Customers are now also laminating thin sheets of particleboard to 30mm X-Board to make lightweight floating shelves, shop bulkheads and easily moveable office partitions. Unlaminated panels are disposed of in the recycle bin after use.
When closely analysed, the X-Board delivers large work-flow efficiencies as one person alone can easily handle a full-sized panel measuring 1100 x 2900 x 16mm.
