XFLO Solid Surface Products (XFLO), the Australian distributor for HANEX solid surface products, has announced that HANEX has been granted certification under IMO Res. A.653 (16) for surface flammability in marine environments.
XFLO’s National Sales and Technical Manager, Craig Rose, said that the new certification would open the door to a variety of maritime applications for the internationally proven solid surface product. Rose said, “The IMO certification is only granted after comprehensive testing of sample materials. Approval means that HANEX meets the requirements for low flame spread according to the requirements for bulkhead, ceiling and deck materials.”
According to Rose, HANEX was particularly suited to use as a bulkhead material and in a variety of other applications. “HANEX can be used either as a surface for a fashionable yet cost effective look or as a totally seamless surface for luxury applications,” he said. “It can also be used as a splashback material in the galley and in the head.”
He added, “IMO Certification means that HANEX is an ideal premium solid surface material. Its beauty, durability and aesthetics make it a wise choice for private and commercial vessels.”
