Erosion Protection Systems Pty Ltd Revetment Mattress Products


Product/Service Name

The revetment mattress consists of a double layered fabric that acts as a formwork to allow the injection of a high strength grout between the layers. The resulting finished product acts as a barrier to prevent erosion that may otherwise occur on engineering structures.





Filter mattresses

  • Relieves hydrostatic pressures from building up behind the mattress
  • Provides a mannings coefficient of 0.025-0.03
  • Can be made to any thickness up to 300 mm
  • Withstands velocities up to 7 m/second
  • Used to protect bridge abutments, culverts, canals, rivers and lakes


Uniform mattresses

  • Provides a more uniform appearance 
  • Internal restraining ties act to reinforce the grout pumped within the mattress
  • Provides a mannings coefficient of 0.016
  • Resists velocities up to 10 m/second
  • Ideal for use on spillways, boat ramps, ponds and other structures requiring impermeability
Flexible Block mattresses

  • Articulates and flexes with any anticipated ground settlement
  • Can be internally reinforced with rope
  • The hinges surrounding each block act to relieve hydrostatic pressures under the matt.
  • Can be coloured to blend in with the environment
  • Used for protecting the toe of sea walls and other marine structures
