Timber designs by Wildwood Designs
Due to overwhelming demand, Wildwood Designs has created a “Special Projects” team to cater for customised furnishing jobs. “As a team we are experienced in building, cabinet making, custom joinery, kitchen installation and furniture design,“ Peter Crutchfield, owner of Wildwood Designs says.
“Wildwood Designs are best known for our unique and quality native Australian hardwood dining suites, TV units, book shelves, coffee tables and buffets that we sell from our Gladesville and Darlinghurst showrooms. We diversified into Special Projects about a year ago because we had clients who required customised installations. Our factory has the resources where we can create larger more complicated pieces to a customer’s exact measurements and then bring in a small team to install them directly into their house or office.”
The home office is a growing trend. With the use of the internet it is much easier for people to work remotely. In addition to that a family may have kids that need their own study and desk space, separate from Mum and Dad’s office. “That is where Wildwood Designs come in. We can provide custom made desks, shelving, book shelves, storage and cabinetry, in keeping with the feel of the clients’ house,” Crutchfield says.
“In the photo, our customer was inspired by a picture she had taken out of a magazine. Together we designed a functional office space achieving all her storage and desk needs, in the style and feel they wanted.”
Other jobs include a city apartment where the customer loved West Australian Jarrah and got a sleek looking four metre jarrah storage unit to hold his plasma, stereo and book collection. It had to be made in several pieces in order to fit in the lift of the building.
The Wildwood Designs website has a “Custom Orders” section that shows examples of other installations that they have done.
“For Special Projects, we don’t just work in hardwoods we can work in MDF and other materials if the job requires it,” Crutchfield stresses. Check Wildwood Designs out if you are looking for an unusual piece of furniture or need something custom made.
