Viva Sunscreens’ Automated Climate-control Technology system in Rouse Hill Town Centre Project

Automated Climate-control Technology system
It is a vastly different world, the one people did not imagine just a decade ago. Issues such as excess waste, higher energy usage, depletion of raw materials, unwanted emissions and climate change are concerning people, and industries everywhere are being challenged to meet the new realities, the construction industry is no exception.
Taking into account the principle of Ecological and Sustainable Design (ESD) objectives, Keith Cottier of Allen Jack + Cottier (in association with GPT, Bovis Lend Lease and the entire RHTC design team), embraced the ESD philosophy for the recently completed Rouse Hill Town Centre, that is located in the outer North West region of Sydney.
Viva Sunscreens assisted by commissioning an advanced Automated Climate-control Technology “ACT” system to meet the ESD brief.
Viva Sunscreens’ Automated Climate-control Technology “ACT’ system provides management to over fifteen individual buildings throughout the Rouse Hill Town Centre site.
The extent of product controlled, is well over two-thousand electrically operated shading and airflow devices, including; Screentex External Blinds, Caretta Folding Arm Awnings, Parizzi Screen Retractable Roofs, Aluminium Alumax Louvred Roofs and Alutecnic Retractable Roof Systems.
The Viva Sunscreens Automated Climate-control Technology “ACT” system offers Architects, Project Managers and Engineers creative freedom to be able to design buildings with large glazed facades, open walkways, atriums and skylights, with the added assurance of maintaining control over heat-gain, ventilation, and the entry of UV rays to an entire site.
Automated Climate-control Technology “ACT” reacts in real-time to inside-outside climatic changes, which directly contributes to reducing power consumption, and size of plant equipment required.
Satisfied with the system and the support provided by the Viva Sunscreens’ technical team, Bovis Lend Lease have recently specified the Viva Sunscreens’ system on a number of upcoming projects.
