Turf Force have celebrated their new sponsorship partnership with Jetstar Gold Coast Titans by commencing work on the club’s new training base at Robina. The Titans official turf suppliers have begun laying twenty thousand metres of turf on the two newly constructed training fields adjacent to Skilled Park which is also near the site of the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Centre of Excellence at Robina.
The training fields are a part of the Gold Coast City Council’s Green Heart project and provide training and playing facilities for Robina junior rugby league club Robina Raptors, as well as training fields for the Titans. The Jetstar Titans contribution of turf and maintenance is in excess of a half a million dollars, an investment in the club’s future as well as it is in the rugby league community.
Jetstar Gold Coast Titans Managing Director Michael Searle said that this process will benefit both the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans and the community for many years to come. He also congratulated Gold Coast City Council and Jetstar Titans new partners at Turf Force for their commitment and vision.
He also said that while the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans will certainly benefit from training on a purpose built and professionally maintained surface, so will many junior rugby league players from the local community which is an exciting aspect of this development .
With the magnificent Skilled Park complex, the Titans Centre of Excellence and now the new training fields all within a stones throw of each other, rugby league as a code has sunk it’s roots even deeper into the Gold Coast landscape and in time the combination will result in the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans achieving their ultimate goal which is to field a team full of home grown heroes in the NRL Premiership competition.
Turf Force, providers of turf to Skilled Park, are equally excited about the new project. According to Peter Lenden, Sales and Marketing Manager, Turf Force like the Gold Coast Titans, are a relatively new team in the market place. Through this partnership they are excited at being able to develop cooperatively with the Titans over the next 5 years, building a solid foundation for the future and ultimately assisting in the development of the team and Rugby League on the Gold Coast. Their challenge is to have every back yard lawn on the Gold Coast looking as good as Skilled Park.
Following the initial laying of the Turf, Lenden said that Turf Force will ensure the fields are professionally maintained at first class levels with an investment by Turf Force of well over half a million dollars. Turf Force’s ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the new training fields will give the Titans, the Robina Raptors the opportunity to continually play and train on an A grade surface which will minimise injuries and also assists the players to perform to their best.
