The Town and Park Furniture website is not simply an advertising exercise but a genuine attempt to offer online assistance to designers, specifiers and purchasers of street furniture.
The website has been developed over the past year and its basic intent is to answer customers’ questions and to hopefully provide solutions. The site has been produced in-house so that the web-designer is not just an IT expert, but knows street furniture thoroughly and, along with a team of collaborators, understands what people need to know.
More than a collection of drawings and photographs, it extends itself into the general areas of install instructions, materials choices, product variations and all associated pricing. It is the complete document. Installation drawings can be readily downloaded as ‘pdf files’, able to be included with working documents and printed out as required. Even advice and recommendations on finishes is issued so that choices become that much easier.
Town and Park subscribes to Forest Stewardship Council and Greenpeace International standards and operations and these are described in detail. A special evaluation of sustainable timber resources, as an environmentally responsible option, is presented and explained, enabling organisations to maintain correct protocol when considering street furniture.
Town and Park’s policy to be up-front with pricing is apparently unusual within the street furniture industry. This not only saves time, but is also indicative of the way Town and Park wish to do business. They will not compromise their product by cutting corners and using cheaper components. Customers get to know that they will always receive good consistent quality and long service-life with each furniture unit. Of course discounts will be considered for larger orders.
Landscape Architect, Bruce Mackenzie AM FAILA, is responsible for the design development of the extensive range of products. They have been in the marketplace since 1988 and supply street furniture to a great many of Australia’s leading councils and organisations. Their customers tend to be persistent repeat purchasers.
