Influential industry journal, Architectural Review has compiled a list of the top 100 projects that represent some of the big achievements in Australian architecture in the last quarter of a century.
To celebrate the magazines 100th issue, a survey of 1000 architects, photographers, academics and architectural commentators from all over Australia were asked to nominate their top five pieces of architecture produced in this country.
The resulting list of buildings includes such icons as Federation Square, the National Museum of Australia and the MCG’s Great Southern Stand. Also making the list is a house that has become as famous as it’s original owner. Sam Newman’s home featuring Pamela Anderson’s face has ranked number 41 in the top 100 list.
Another home with a digitally printed façade, making the list at number 79, is the Richmond home with an image of the previous home on that block of land in life size as face.
This project has been making an impact in other countries as architects discuss it’s interesting take on the issue of heritage. The U.K’s Blueprint magazine featured the Richmond house on it’s cover and in the editorial, media in praising the building’s bold stance.
These two top rating examples of architectural expression have more in common than simply making the list. Both projects feature digitally printed window film supplied and installed by Tint Design Interestingly, Tint Design has conducted work on several of the buildings in the top 100 list, including Federation Square (2) and the MCG (19).
However, it is the two homes with the interesting façade’s for which leading designers most readily recognise and call upon the expertise of Tint Design to transform their projects with creative window film solutions.
