The Laminex Group is calling entries for its inaugural Design Awards, Sykes 06, which close on 30 June, 2006.
Sykes 06 is a competition for architectural specifiers and interior designers from Victoria and Tasmania to encourage original and inspired projects and recognise their continued support of The Laminex Group’s brands.
“The award is named in honour of Bob Sykes, who had the foresight and creativity to see the potential of laminate as a decorative surface which started the Laminex brand,” Matt Earl, Marketing Manager for Victoria and Tasmania says.
“Sykes 06 is an opportunity to recognise the commitment to innovation and design excellence as well as the continued support of our products by the creative people in our industry,” Earle says.
“This is the first year we have conducted the awards and The Laminex Group look forward to them becoming an annual event recognised by the industry.”
Entries are welcome from Victorian and Tasmanian architectural specifiers or interior designers that have specified one or more of the predetermined products in any Australian or international project.
There are four categories available for interior designs that have been specified and completed within the period 1 July 2005 to 30 June 2006: Commercial Property; Multi-residential Property; Institutional Property; or Retail /Hospitality.
Short-listed submissions for the Award will be selected from entries received between October 2005 and 30 June 2006. These will be presented to a panel of industry experts for judging, with the winner receiving a trip for two to the 2007 Cologne Furniture Fair in Germany.
The awards will be presented in Melbourne at a cocktail event on the evening of Thursday 17 August.
