The plate is manufactured from high-strength thick Lexan sheeting, which is cut, bent and slotted to enable it to slide with the concertina action of the trellis door.
A layer of 3M black vinyl film is applied to the Lexan to ensure the handle position is not visible from outside. The Lockwood lock and handle are situated on the inside of the plate/door.
If someone were to be trapped on the inside of the store, they would need only to push down the lever handle and slide the trellis door sideways to exit from the store. For entry to the store, another lock (ATDC Three-point Alumax Lock) is fitted to the centre of the door for easy key-turn access.
