The lamps are entirely custom made to a high standard, with gold plated bronze bases and quality fittings.

A pair of Chinese table lamps of baluster shape. The lamps with an even, burnt orange ground colour. The ground decorated with delicate complex gilding, fine line foliate gilding with flower heads and butterflies.
An old symbol that suggests the meaning great age because in Chinese the word die also sounds like the word for seventy or eighty years of age.
It is also a symbol for joy and marital happiness. The front side of the lamps reserved and finely gilded with sprays of Magnolia flowers and foliage, symbol of female beauty.
The reverse side reserved with gilded orchid flowers and foliage. The lamp bases gilded with the Chinese character Shu the character denoting the congratulatory wish for health and long life.
The lamps seated on Chinese style custom made, gold plated bronze bases with lamp tops of gold plated bronze. These are a decorative pair of lamps, custom produced to high level of quality.
