Sage Timberline 9.5 construction software from Synergy Information Systems
As a part of this announcement, Synergy Information Systems’ Sage has announced the following summary of enhancement due for release in Sage Timberline 9.5, summarised below with their impact for Australian Timberline Users:
1) Daily report availability within Project Management
New field reports within Project Management let user to record daily events on a project site, and provide an overview of activities and conditions. With field reports, users can track everything from on-site weather conditions, labour, equipment and material usage, and even accidents or safety violations.
2) Higher security within Document Management
All DM customers can now add security features for Queues, Documents, Document Types, and Tasks. New Power Operator roles allow users to be set up with rights of an operator and added administrative rights, as well as the ability to manage the list of operators. Administrators can also set up Power Operator conditions, while still managing document and task security.
3) Archive leases within Property Management
A new Archive Wizard guides users through multiple options of moving or archiving obsolete leases that are no longer needed, so users have fewer leases to scroll through while using Property Management. Any archived lease is still available for reporting purposes, and the user can choose the variables that help to decide which leases get archived.
4) New, easy-to-use security features
No more skipping from application to application to set up security. The user can utilise more enhanced security from one location within Sage Timberline Office; and people can also decide which users have rights to specific companies or modules. Enhanced password settings and controls give the users more power to keep their important company information safe.
5) Desktop User Assistance
the use can utilise the Desktop User Assistance to search Sage Timberline Office Help files from within Desktop. The user now has the options of doing a quick search for a single Help file, or a detailed search for single or multiple files.
6) Vista compatibility and LongHorn compatibility
As part of the Version 9.5 release, all applications of Sage Timberline Office will be Vista and Longhorn compatible. These changes will further enhance the integrated functionality of Sage Timberline for the existing customers.
As with all releases Synergy Information Systems is testing the upgrade prior to rollout. Once completed Synergy Information Systems will notify all users regarding upgrading its existing versions.
Release is currently due for late 2008. Considering the inclusion of the field reports and site diaries to the Construction Project Management modules and the integrated security, this update is likely to be accepted and further enhance the products reputation as the ideal integrated construction software suite available.
