Steel roof packages for retirement villages
Prefabricated steel roof trusses and steel roof cladding are helping to speed construction of two new retirement villages in Western Australia.
Bethanie Fields (at Eaton, north of Bunbury) and Bethanie Waters (at Port Kennedy, near Rockingham) are designed as luxury retirement communities, located close to the coast, shops and golf courses, with a “private club” for residents offering facilities for exercise, relaxation and socialising.
Homes are of a higher standard than most retirement units, with two bedrooms plus study, two bathrooms, double garage, high ceilings and extensive storage space. The villages also cater for high-care residents.
The developer, leading West Australian aged care provider, Churches of Christ Homes and Community Services, is planning two further Bethanie villages, at Yanchep and Mt Lawley, in an effort to keep up with demand for retirement communities offering an improved lifestyle.
Builder, Gallacher Constructions, is sourcing the roof trusses on a supply and install contract from Integrated Steel Solutions. The bundled package includes design, manufacture, engineering certification, supply and installation of the roof structure. Stramit Building Products also supplied roof sheeting, fascia and rainwater products.
The Integrated Steel Solutions service offer is based on customised single-source steel building solutions that speed construction, lower costs and simplify transactions. Building components include steel frames and trusses, flooring systems, roofing, walling, fascia and gutter, as well as third party products.
Matt Turner, of Gallacher Constructions, said the roof trusses package had simplified project management and sped up construction by integrating several building processes through a single supplier.
