Leading supplier of high quality solar panels and inverters, SolarSwitch advises customers to make informed decisions when choosing their solar power systems.

The increasing affordability of solar power systems is encouraging a greater number of people to invest in the equipment. The solar industry’s peak body, The Australian Solar Energy Society (AuSES), however tells prospective buyers of solar power systems to invest in quality rather than cheap substandard products.

John Grimes, CEO of AuSES urges customers and solar businesses to do their due diligence on the products being bought and installed so that they don’t have to replace the modules after two years instead of the expected 25 years.

SolarSwitch stocks and sells high quality solar panels and solar inverters from world-leading, reputable multinational companies including SunPower, Suntech, Silex, Conergy and SMA.

A master dealer for Conergy, the well-known German multinational solar panel manufacturer, Solar Switch is also one of the largest dealers for SunPower solar panels. All panels sold by Solar Switch carry a 25-year manufacturer's warranty valid in Australia.

Adam Tesoriero, Director of SolarSwitch comments that a large part of their work over the last year involved system upgrades for people who had purchased cheap solar power systems from companies who no longer exist to honour warranties.

Solar Switch advises prospective buyers to address the following questions before investing in a solar power system:

  • What brand are the components?
  • Will the exact solar panel and inverter make and model be listed on the contract?
  • Can the system be easily upgraded in the future?
  • What are the performance levels of the system?
  • Who holds the warranty and is that company reputable?
  • Where is the warranty held and does the manufacturer offer local support?
According to Mr Tesoriero, customers who go ahead and invest in cheaper solar power systems without due diligence end up spending far more in a short period of time in lost earnings, replacement parts, time and hassle, than what they originally  saved upfront.

With considerable expertise built over 5000+ solar power installations throughout NSW, ACT, VIC, SA and SE QLD, the Australian owned SolarSwitch supports customers by guiding them through the process of installation with competence and ease. Each solar electricity installation is carried out by a Clean Energy Council accredited electrician.
