Solar water heating is a renewable and reliable energy technology used to heat water. When sunlight strikes an absorbent surface within a solar collector, the absorber draws maximum heat from the sun.
Either a heat-transfer fluid or the actual potable water to be used flows through copper U tubes and picks up the heat from absorber. The heated water is stored in a storage tank until needed.
The Solar Lord hot water system from Solar Lord is a pumped solar system that circulates the water (direct loop) or a heat-transfer fluid (indirect loop) through the solar collector.
Direct heating system (open loop):
Model: E3001-O, E3002-O, G3001-O, E2001-O& G2001-O
In a direct heating system, potable water is heated as it is circulated by a pump through solar collectors mounted on the roof.
The heated water is then stored in a ground-mounted storage cylinder and rises up the cylinder by natural convection to the top where it is then ready for use (hot water outlet).
Indirect heating system (closed loop):
Model: E3001-C, E3002-C, G3001-C & G3002-C
Indirect heating systems use a heat exchanger storage tank. In indirect circuit only a heat- transfer fluid runs through the collector. The fluid is circulated between a collector and a tank by a pump.
The heat that is absorbed from the sun is transferred to the potable water inside the storage tank as the fluid passes through the heat exchanger. Indirect (closed) circuit protects the collectors from freezing.
