The new generation Extra Noise Control (ENC) architectural rangehoods from Omega Smeg have an ultra-powerful yet quiet motor.
Each of the five models in the range removes 1100 cu m of air an hour and features five quite different but equally striking contemporary hood designs. Four of these are for wall mounting, while one is for island bench installation.
The K7088ENC is destined to be a best-seller with its strong, rectilinear lines in hand finished stainless steel - its form serves to underline the poewr of the motor it encases. Three of the other ENC designs also have strong geometric lines. The K8199ENC softens the overall shape of the hood by using convex edges and an inverted dome at the centre of the canopy, the K8399-ENC features an elliptical profile with a lip of crystal glass extending from the stainless steel body while the K273-ENC is the only model to break away from this strong linear form to feature a semi-conical shape in crystal glass with stainless steel chimney.
In real terms, the rangehoods have reduced energy consumption by 70 percent over conventional models while reducing noise output by 24 percent to 47 decibels. Other features include halogen lighting, 12 LED display speed selection, stainless steel sandwiched aluminium grease filters and a visual prompter to show when the filters need cleaning.
