Like most manufacturing operations, Smartflo Gutters of Newcastle, NSW, seek to provide the highest quality products to their clients, at reasonable cost. In order to achieve this with their roof guttering systems, Smartflo have, for many years, chosen BlueScope Colorbond as the source material for their roll forming operation.
In the Smartflo roof gutter system, the upper pre-gutter catches leaves, allowing the sun to dry them out and the wind to blow them off the roof and gutter. Meanwhile, rainwater drains down the roof and through the gutter system’s domed polymer filters (spaced at 500mm intervals) into a clean rainwater channel. The lower running rainwater channel connects to standard sized downpipes, using downpipe nozzles fixed to the base of the gutter.
Composting of vegetable matter in the gutter is curtailed, because the organic material is exposed to drying elements and easily cleared away from the roof before reaching the downpipe. Because of this, the gutter’s life is prolonged, leaving downpipe and roof maintenance requirements significantly reduced. By using BlueScope Colorbond, Smartflo can be assured of a consistently high quality zincalume base material, with a tried and proven polymer coating in a range of contemporary and traditional roofing colours.
